Thomas B.
Austin
Mr. Austin's career
spans over thirty-five years in the Information Technology industry,
beginning with programming and analysis, moving up to sales, sales management, marketing and upper management.
Networking systems for the mainframe arena occupied the
bulk of Mr. Austin's tenure with the NCR Corporation. Selling
communications processors for IBM large systems, his customers' networks
were among the largest in the world. AT&T, Bellsouth, Martin Marietta, Boeing
and Equifax are typical of the clients he
served.
The
early, technical years included work on software development
projects involving mass storage random access devices, and
electronic message switching automation for the Department of
Defense, before it was called e-mail. He gained knowledge of
wireless data communications selling mobile digital terminal
systems. A recent yearlong consulting assignment involved devising
an internet/e-commerce strategy and business plan for a small
specialty software firm.
Since the early 1980's, Mr. Austin has
also been involved in the real estate firm run primarily by his wife
Mary Austin. While she has maintained a broker's license in both
Georgia and Kentucky, Mr. Austin has served as president of Ecton
Realty, Inc. Ecton Realty, over this span of years, has done new
home sales, multi-family rehab and management, new home construction
and sales, commercial property search, and commercial development
and construction. Most recently, since moving to Louisville,
Kentucky, in the early 1990's, Mr. Austin has done property-related
consulting and market research, for
investors. |
